Dr. Christopher Greer began the Center for Better Vision in 1995, adding to the Clinic’s 30 other areas of specialty. The Center offers our patients comprehensive eye care services, convenience, the latest technological advancements in eye surgery, and Cooper Clinic’s “patient-first” philosophy of professional care.

The first institution of its kind in the region Cooper Clinic was founded on Oct. 1, 1920, and named for its founding physician, Dr. St. Cloud Cooper. Patterned after the Mayo Clinic, Cooper Clinic had steady growth and expansion from its beginning. During a time when group practice was rare, the clinic quickly gained a reputation for excellence in health care.

Eighty years later, the clinic has maintained that reputation although much has changed. A beautiful 120,000-square-foot facility serves as the central clinic. Fort Smith is the medical center for all communities within a 100-mile radius. This medical base of more than 300,000 allows the community to support strong hospitals with the most modern equipment. This also affords Cooper Clinic the opportunity to retain state-of-the-art technology and to attract the best physicians in the country. Twenty-five extensions of the clinic spread throughout Northwest Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma making prompt, quality care easily accessible for everyone in the region.

The Center for Better Vision is committed to continuing the standard of excellence you have come to expect.
